Why the name
'Orthodox'?
Most of us know that an orthodontist is concerned about straight teeth. The "ortho-" in "orthodontist" and Orthodox comes from the Greek word for "straight". The "-dox" in orthodox comes from the Greek word "thinking".
So, in an Orthodox Presbyterian Church you will find the straight teaching of historic Christianity.
We are a Church that believes what the Bible says and we try to put it into practice. Our name is a reflection of our church life and our attitude toward Scripture.
We are orthodox. We practice straight teaching.
